In the founders’ (Scott Leonard and Matt Reynolds) own words, Indigenous Designs is committed to “supporting and preserving fair trade wages and artisan cooperatives, investing in natural and organic fibers and environmentally-friendly dyes, and spreading the beauty of handmade, eco fashion.” They employ artisan cooperatives in South America, who predominantly use alpaca, Tencel, organic cotton, and wild silk for their fashions. Indigenous Designs has been making adult fashions for over a decade, but only recently has the company begun making infant and children’s styles, up to size 6. We are eagerly waiting for this highly environmentally and socially responsible company to offer a collection for the older kids too.
