Designer/Owner Maia Andersen takes great pride in upholding eco-friendly standards, and generally includes the garment-specific applicable eco standards, including certifying organization, on the tag. She uses a wide variety of materials, most often hemp, certified organic cotton, and recycled fleece. She prefers using plant-based dyes where possible, as well as low impact dyes. The graphic designs are applied using water-based screenprinting. Sustainable Kids donates $1.50 of every purchase to the Hands and Feet Project's Children's Village in Haiti. The company also supplies a box with prepaid shipping to Haiti, for kids and parents to fill with small donations.
