Made in USA

At GreenEdge Kids, when we say “Made in USA,” we mean sewn in the USA. Although some organic cotton is grown and milled (processed into fabric) in the USA (USA Cotton), there just aren’t enough organic cotton farmers to meet demand. Farm subsidies currently keep U.S. conventional cotton prices unnaturally low, which impacts organic farm economics, and ultimately forces clothing manufacturers to find organic cotton sources in other countries.

When you live in the USA, buying products made in the USA does two things. It supports domestic employment, and it reduces shipping environmental impacts. Although it might be strangely convenient to have cotton grown and manufactured into cloth in India, clothing sewn in Peru, and then garments shipped to the U.S., each transportation step pollutes our world’s air and water.
